Me 14 pounds lighter

About 2 1/2 months ago I started working out 5 days a week with friends and watching my eating. To date I have lost 14 pounds. I have 11 left to reach my goal. It is amazing the difference 14 pounds makes:) I am feeling more like myself and looking forward to reaching my goal.

Catching up - Matthew 4 months old

As you can see Matthew is getting sooo big! We are so blessed. He is such a happy and peaceful baby. the kids just adore him. He is growing so fast.

As I write this - a month behind - he is actually 5 months old today. He is doing so much: rolling from back to tummy, playing with his feet, taking off his socks, beginning to teeth, sleeping through the night....it is just amazing.

Yet again I am floored at how quickly time passes. On February 5th Matthew reached his 3 month birthday.

It seems like yesterday when I was waddling around sooo ready to give birth. Then he was home in our arms , and now he is 3 months old.

Matthew is such a wonderful baby. He smiles and coos all the time. He loves to be played with and held. Good thing there are so many accommodating people around:). He has discovered his hands and loves to fold them, put them in his mouth, and put his blanket or anything in his reach into his mouth. He is just perfecting the last skill - it is newer:)

Happy Belated 17th Birthday Austin

It is so hard to believe that 17 years have gone by so quickly. I still feel like Austin is my baby. Austin we are so proud of the young man you are and the man you are becoming. You have worked so hard and sacrificed so much to reach your goals. We are soo glad to be back in Michigan and able to be together again as a whole family unit.

May God bless you this year and always. May you continue to grow in His Graces and use all of your talents to serve His Kingdom.

Merry Christmas and Happy New year everyone!! Sorry I am so behind. The holidays just flew by with so much to do with friends and family.

It was so god to be back here and enjoy all the festivities. Austin was home for 7 days, we were able to attend the Wrubel Christmas party, we saw lots of friends and enjoyed hanging out together.

I put a lot of pictures on of all of our fun. In the pictures are the kids, our decorations, my sister, my dad, My brother , and my friend Kim. the last one is the front of our Christams card. I apologize to those I missed as I ran out o f cards:( I hope everyone is enjoying a blessed 2009 and I will try to keep more up to date.

Matthew's baptism

Matthew's baptism was very special. Our dear friends - Bill and Kim - came up from Florida to be his godparents. We have such a nice time and he is blessed to have them as his godparents.

Deacon Steve - a family friend - performed the baptism. His beautiful wife did the music and it was just a very special and beautiful baptism. Austin and Albert Faraj were also participants in doing the reading and the petitions.

To help us clebrate the Perrottas and Farajs joined us along with my family. We had a wonderful celebration at the Farajs after the baptism to celebrate Matthew's becoming a Son of God. They put on such a nice party (the Farajs and the Perrottas) and we all have a great time.

Announcing the arrival of Matthew John Watson

On Wednesday November 5, 2008 at 8:57pm Matthew John made his appearance into this world.

I went into my doctor that morning and was dilated to 3 and about 80% thinned out. My doctor stripped my membranes and sent me to walk. Since that didn't start full labor he induced me later that day. It was such a blessing becasue if I didn't have Matthew that day Austin would not have been able to be there.

I went in at about 3:30 and they started the pitosin at 4:00. After the contractions became regular I got my epidural and Doctor Fleming broke my water. Mathew was born at 8:57pm after 6 minutes of pushing. All went so well an we feel so blessed.

Everyone is adjusting very well to his arrival in the family. I will post more soon.

Hockey Fun

Since we moved back up here to Michigan we have really had a great time being able to watch Austin and his teammates play hockey. Over the past 5 yes the kids hardly ever saw Austin play and Mike and I only once or twice a year. It has been such a treat to see him play on average twice a week and being able to watch the away games via the internet. The Spitfires are in first place in their division with only one loss and Austin is playing very well. He is number 3 in Rookie scoring for the league which is very good.

The Pumpkin Patch - 3 weeks ago

About 3 weeks ago we went to the pumpkin patch in search of pumpkins and the yummy cider and homemade donuts you only find around these parts during the fall:)

We really had a great time.

Friends recommended this farm and it was lots of fun. There was a general store, cider, donuts, a hayride, a corn maze, and of course the pumpkin patch.

It was a beautiful sunny day and we went right after church. After taking pictures we headed out to the pumpkin patch on the hayride. After choosing our pumpkins the older kids went through the corn maze. It was big one and you had to find 3 cedar trees and mark them off of the map they gave you. The kids had soo much fun. After the corn maze we took the hayride back to the front where we enjoyed fresh donuts and cider.

Christian and Maggie are my September birthdays. Christian turned 5 on the 20th and Maggie will be 3 on the 26th. We had a party on Sunday with my Mom, Dad, sister, and brother. this year was extra special because Austin could join us too. One of the many perks of being back in Michigan.

The kids had a great birthday. We love them dearly and can't believe how big they are:) We had tacos, watched football, ate cake and ice cream and enjoyed watching them open gifts.

Unfortunately, Christian has poison ivy and it was really bad so we had to go to the Urgent Care after the party. Good thing we did because it was badly infected as you can see from his legs in this picture. Thanks to all the meds he is much better now:)

31 Weeks Down - 9 To Go!!

Here I am in all my glory:) I am feeling fine and baby is very active. The kids love to feel and see the baby move. I must say that I do feel HUGE!!! I can't wait to see our little one and find out if it is a boy or girl.

FYI - for names we have picked out Matthew Thomas or MaryGrace Corinne. I will keep you all posted:)

Ist day of school

Mikey, RJ, and Ben all started school last week. They are attending a very nice charter school in Michigan.

So far they are really enjoying school. it has been an adjustment getting up at 6:00am every morning so I can get them to school on time. There are no buses to their school. hey are also adjusting to homework after school. Other than that they like it a lot and Mike and I are pleased with the school. It has been such a blessing to have people we already know at the schoool.

As time goes on I will keep you all updated. Also Kolbe and Nate are not in yet so I am home schooling them for the time being.

Sending Kids to School This Year

Well we have decided to stop homeschooling at this point and put the kids into school. Here in Michigan we have found a great charter school to send them to. So far Mikey and RJ are in and the other 3 boys are at the top of their waiting lists.

I must say that I am very glad and sad at the same time. I knew that I could not do it right now. With 5 to school, two under 5 at home, and a new baby coming I felt like it was impossible. I know it is not as many of my dear friends do it, but my temperament couldn't handle it. the boys are getting behind, they want to go to school, and I am feeling very overwhelmed and unable to handle the load of school work, housework, and life in general. I must say too that I want to sit back and enjoy this baby with no pressure to get back to school.

On the other hand we loved the freedom homeschooling allowed us. We were getting into a nice rhythm. It is also a sacrifice to send them and entrust them to someone else. I am nervous about how they will do but at the same time I know I have great kids with a strong faith and a great parish that provides excellent formation for the kids.

I will surely keep everyone updated on our adventures this year and God Bless you all during this school year whether at home or school.

The Family Together Again

On Sunday My Family was together in the same place for the first time in almost five years. About 5 years ago Mike and I moved to Florida and then about 6 months later My sister Jenny and her family also moved down to Florida. Since that time we have not all been in the same place at the same time.

Sunday My parents and my siblings were all together again. It was sooo great to just relax and hang out at my parents with everyone. It was just like old times again when we would do this at least every other Sunday!

Our 14th Anniversary

Today is our 14th Anniversary. We have been through soo much together. Good, bad and ugly. Through it all, by the Grace of God, we have grown and thrived.

We have been blessed with a deep love for each other and out of that love a gorgeous family. I am soo grateful for Mike's Faith, his devotion to us, and how hard he works to take care of us.

Catching Up

H everyone - since we are all settled in I thought I would do some catching up here.

1 - Lourdes/Paris

Our trip to Lourdes/Paris was a wonderful time. My parents came and watched the kidsos we could enjoy the generous gift of this trip from my in-laws.

When we arrived at the airport to take off for Newark where we were to connect with the family and head to Paris there was a four hour delay. We were able to go into Atlanta instead and then on to Paris where we then connected with everyone for the short flight to Lourdes.

Lourdes was just amazing! We were able to drink the water, pray, go to Confession, drop off petitions at the Grotto and just enjoy our time together. After two days in Lourdes it was off to Paris.

Once in Paris we went for a short tour and had our pictures taken in Front of the Eiffel Tower. After settling in we ate and went to bed. The next day was full of fun and adventure. We went to the Louvre and saw a tiny portion in 2 hours. Then it was off to The Arc D Triomphe and walking and window shopping along the Champs D' Elysses. After that we went shopping for the kids and my parents along what I call "souvenir row". We found everyone something nice and then headed to Notre Dame. We got there just as it was being opened to the public so we actually got to walk around inside. It was just so beautiful.

After a long day wee went on a 4 hour dinner cruise along the Seine with Mike's family. We got to relax, enjoy good food and good company, and see the major sights of Paris from the boat.

The next morning was early departure. After an 8 hour flight to Newark we had a three hour delay. We were both so exhausted after not sleeping on the plane and basically missing out on 24 hours of sleep. Our plane began to board about a half hour late and then the fun began. Once on the plane there were problems with air traffic control and we were told we had about an hour wait on the runway til take off. A half hour later we were informed that because of thunder storms down South no planes were able to take off for Florida or Atlanta. Our plane and about 9 others sat for 5 hours before taking off.

The trip was great but the travel part was rather difficult. I am just grateful we could go.

2 - Moving to Michigan

Our move also had some hitches such as having to pack and drive the truck ourselves instead of having the moving company do it as planned. They came in and tried to charge us double the original quote so we rented a truck ourselves, packed the house in 24 hours, left and made it to Michigan in 2 days. The hardest things were packing the house on short notice and then having to drive the van alone because Mike was driving the moving truck and Austin was driving his car.

When we got here our dear friends came over and helped unload the truck and start the unpacking. We are so grateful and glad to be back.

Since being back we have spent a lot of time with our friends and family . I have been able to go back to my former Ob/GYN who is an amazing pro-life NFP (Natural Family Planning) only OB. We have also been able to enjoy being back at out former parish. So many blessings!!!

3 - News

Mike has now started his new job! So far so good. We are praying that all goes well for years to come. It is a great place to be. Mike has also started working out!! He has gone everyday this week but one and is loving the benefits but not loving the sore muscles.

My Mom is sick so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is being released from the hospital today. After thinking she had a bladder infection they ruled that out when it continued for over a week with no improvement. After a CT Scan they found she has Polycystic Kidney Disease. This means she has cysts on her kidneys. As time progresses - many years - they can cause kidney failure and she may need dialysis or a transplant. It is also genetic. As for now they will treat her symptoms and keep an eye on things treating things as needed.

My sister Jenny and her hubby John are on their way here and will be in tonight for a weeks vacation. It will be the first time in almost 5 years the whole family will be together again. We can't wait!!!!!

Moving Tomorrow

Sorry - I know I am already behind on my blogging but it will only get worse before it gets better.

We are moving back to Michigan tomorrow. I can not express how happy we are to be able to go back to our roots and be back with Austin!!!

Any thoughts and prayers our way would be greatly appreciated.

I want to let everyone of our friends from Florida know how much we will miss them and how grateful we are for their presence in our lives during good and bad times.

My Golfer

Austin has been golfing with his high school golf team. He has really been enjoying the break from hockey and getting to know some of his schoolmates better.

Yesterday his team golfed in Regionals. Austin did very well coming in third out of every golfer there!!!! He shot a 5 over par - a 77. The team came in 2nd overall and now moves on to States.

Mike and I are actually going to get to see him golf in States! We are going to Michigan next week for a week and next weekend is when States are. We can't wait to see how he and his team does.

Baby Watson - 16 weeks

I had an ultrasound on Wednesday and it was awesome. Baby Watson was kicking, trying to suck its hand, and trying to grab its toes. I just love watching all the activity.

The doctor said the baby is perfect and that all the blood work they have gotten back so far has been amazing!!!

I am having slight problems though. My placenta is curled up a little bit on the edge and a tiny portion of my membranes has not fused. The doctor checked my cervix and uterus by ultrasound also and those are just fine. Because of these slight issues he is going to be proactive and do another ultrasound on June 30th. The doctor said that these two things are really of no concern since it is such a small portion of both that are affected and the baby along with my blood work so far is perfect.

I am thankful that he is being cautious though and I look forward to meeting this little one in November.

Kolbe's First Holy Communion

Ok - So I am super slow! Kolbe made his First Holy Communion on May 3rd. He did such a nice job. The only disappointment was hat we could not take any pictures of them receiving because the previous year was so bad. That is a minor inconvenience.

We had a nice celebration afterwards with our dear friends and my mother-in-law. It was small but very nice. We had lots of finger foods, jambalaya. and a beautiful cake made by my friends Kim. The kids played and swam.

I am very happy for Kolbe. He is now receiving Jesus and all of His Graces. Kolbe is now excited to go to altar server training:) He sure is a go getter:) We are very proud of him and pray he always grows closer to Jesus and his Sacred Heart.

Happy 6th Birthday Nate

Today is Nate's 6th Birthday. He is such a sweet and gentle little guy. He is my cuddler and loves to suck his thumb and rub Maggie's hair:)

Today we just laid low and I made ice cream cone cup cakes for dessert. I felt bad for him because he got sick to his stomach this evening and went to bed very early. Hopefully he will be better in the morning.

We love you Nate and can't wait to watch you grow and change in the coming year.

We're Expecting Baby #9!!

We are proud to announce Watson Baby #9 due to arrive November 8th, 2008. I am now 13 weeks along and we are all very happy and excited. It is truly a blessing and we wanted to share it with you all. Also we would like to ask you all to keep baby and me in your prayers.

Just to answer everyone ahead of time - we are NOT finding out if we are having a boy or a girl this time - we are going to wait.

Closure On USA NTDP

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers for Austin during his season and his tryouts during Easter Weekend.

After 2 years of being scouted but the USA NTDP; 2 years of Selects Camps; Two Years of many discussions and tours.... The USA Team decided to wait to offer to Austin and therefore Austin said "No Thank You".

As a family we feel we made the right decision. Though they did not out right say no they did not want him they are still unsure and wanted him to attend the Festival in the summer. Austin is sure that it is time to move on to something else. We feel that this just was not the right place for his continued development.

We are very peaceful and happy with our decision. Good Luck to all those boys who worked so hard and made the team.

Final 40 Camp is Over....

Hi all. Austin is done with the final 40 camp for the USA NTDP. Now comes the waiting. He played very well and even had 5 goals in one game! They will start making the calls on Thursday and we will be told one of three things: We are offering you a spot on the team; We are going to keep watching you; Thank You for coming out and Good Luck in the future.

Obviously we hope to hear the first one! I will keep you updated and now we await his arrival home this evening for the week. We miss him and can't wait to see him tonight. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Happy 13th Birthday Mikey

Today is Mikey's 13th Birthday! I can't believe I now have two teenagers! Mikey is such a wonderful young man and I am soo proud of him. He has a huge heart and is always the first to help me when I need it. He is always the first to share with his siblings too. We are so blessed by his smile and good attitude. We love you Mikey!!!

Ben's Game Ball

On Holy Thursday, while I was at Mass, Ben was playing his baseball game.

Ben is one of two nine year olds on a Major Team - the highest level in Little League. He has been adjusting to the faster pitching and struggling a bit at bat. Well Thursday he had his first hit in the Majors - a double and with it an RBI. His coach gave him the game ball!!! We are all so proud of him. Go Ben!!!!!

Final 40 Camp This Weekend

Today Austin started his weekend at the USA National Team Development Program Final 40 camp. This is the final 40 players from the 1992 birth year to be invited to tryout for the U17 USA NTDP Team. This group of 40 is from the entire United States os it is an honor and privilege to be invited to attend and an even bigger honor to be chosen for the team.

Please pray for him that God guide him through this camp weekend and that he play his best and use his gifts for God's glory. I will let you know when we get word of how the weekend is going and if they offer him a spot this weekend, wait out the 7 day period, or if he does not make it....

Maggie's Dora Bed

Maggie just LOVES Dora. We watch lots and lots of Dora. I have been wanting to get her this Dora set of a pillow case, a fitted sheet, a flat sheet,and comforter for a long time. I finally found it at Target and snatched it up. I also have been waiting for the Dora jammies she is wearing to go on sale at Target and they were on sale the same day so now she is in Dora heaven. When I put on the bedding she said, "Oh this is pretty". She is such a girl.

My Baby is Driving!!!

Last week on Tuesday Austin got his driver's license. It is so hard to believe that he can drive - alone!!! He is loving the freedom but is finding out rather quickly that gas is expensive. I am glad that in Michigan he can only have one other person in the car with him at a time. It cuts down on distractions. So far he is doing a great job and is giving my parents some freedom too. I can't wait til next week when he gets here so he can run my errands. I have waited a long 16 years to say to him "Go get me some milk."; " I am out of bread - go to the store" It is going to be nice!!!! Now we just keep asking his Guardian Angel to protect him when he drives:)

I am sad to tell you all that Compuware fell to Ceasars 4-1 this evening. We scored first but then let them back into the game. After scoring one goal they scored two more within a coupe of minutes. Then they scored an empty netter at the end of the game.

I am so proud of Austin and all he has accomplished with his team mates. His next stop is the USA National Team Development Program Final 40 camp Easter weekend. Please pray for him that he can achieve his goal of playing for the USA NTDP.

Today Austin and his team - Compuware play for the State Championship. So far this week we have gone undefeated and today is do or die. If we beat Little Cesars we go onto Nationals in Buffalo New York. If Cesar's wins we are done.

I am very proud for Austin and his team and how well they have played. I will post as soon as I know the results this evening.

Today I received these beautiful flowers from my son Austin for Valentine's Day. He sends me flowers for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day every year. I am always surprised and touched when I get them. He is such a good son!!

Kolbe also gave me a nice card he made for me for Valentine's Day. I found it in my room on my purse! I was touched and surprised. I am soo blessed!!

Michigan forward makes commitment to Bears

The University of Maine men’s hockey team has landed another forward from Todd Jenkins’ Compuware Midget Minor Elite Under-16 team in Michigan.

Austin Watson, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound right winger, has verbally committed to attend Maine on a scholarship beginning in 2010. Watson’s linemate, center Stuart Higgins, had committed to Maine earlier.

Jenkins, who coaches the Compuware team, is a former Black Bear winger.

"Austin reminds me of David Capuano," said Jenkins, referring to the former two-time first-team All-American at Maine. "He has great hands in traffic. He has soft hands. He can distribute the puck real well, and he’s a goal scorer. I expect him to be a first- or second-round NHL draft choice."

"You can use him in every situation," added Jenkins. "He sees the ice real well and plays well in the defensive zone."

The 16-year-old Michigan native is fifth in the league in scoring with nine goals and 23 assists in 22 games.

Watson chose Maine over Wisconsin, Notre Dame and Michigan.

"I just really liked the way it is in Maine," said Watson. "I liked the atmosphere. It seemed like a terrific atmosphere to play in."

He said having his linemate and friend Higgins going to Maine was another factor in his decision.

Jenkins said both Watson and Higgins have been invited to the U.S. National Team Development Program’s camp next month and both have a good shot to earn roster spots on the USA Under-17 team next season.

Watson said he wants to spend the next two years "getting bigger, fine-tuning my game and shooting the puck a little more so I’ll be ready to step into a big role when I get to Maine."

Watson’s coming to Maine is dependent upon his being accepted to the school and meeting NCAA Clearinghouse requirements.

He had three NCAA Division I schools to choose from. We all think Maine is a great fit. He called the coach yesterday after many months of visiting schools and weighing his options.

Going To The Gym

Mike and I joined a gym for the New Year so we could get fit and healthy.

I must say that I am so blessed to have a dear friend to go with. We go Monday thru Friday. She pushes me in such a good way. I have lost 5 pounds in 2 and half weeks. We usually alternate between working on our legs and arms. We do our abs everyday and then the treadmill everyday for 30 minutes. All of this with a 1500 calorie diet an I am feeling very good.

I feel great and appreciate the help I am getting in keeping my commitment to get healthy.

Mike is not able to go as much but he is watching what he is eating more and getting to the gym as much as possible on his days off. I am excited to see what our transformations will be after a few months of taking care of ourselves!!!

Today is our oldest son's 16th birthday. I can hardly believe it!! time goes by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday he was learning to walk, then ride a bike, then skate.....

We are so proud of the wonderful young man Austin has become. He has lots on his shoulders yet he deals with it with maturity and grace. He has lived with my parents since he was 12 to continue on his path to one day play professional hockey - his ultimate dream. Through all the adjustments he has done so well. Through all the scouting and scrutiny - especially this year - he has thrived and handled it with poise. On top of that all he has kept up his grade point and focused. We are so very proud!

Just an fyi - watch out because he will be getting his license in February or March!!!

Captial One Bowl Game New Year's Day

On New Years Day we were fortunate enough to have tickets for the Capital One Bowl game with Michigan vs Florida. Of course having been born and raised in Michigan it was a no brainer who Mike and I were rooting for. My sister and her husband came too - it was their idea to go - but they were split. She was rooting on Michigan and he was going for the Gators.

We had the best time! W got there early so we could tailgate which was lots of fun. All the fans really enjoyed themselves and were very kind to each other. During the game it was a nail biter. it is one of the best football games I have ever seen. I never wanted to leave my seat- even to use the facilities. The highlight of the game for me was when my best friend called me from the New Years Day party her family was at with many of our other dear friends. They put me on speaker phone and they yelled and cheered on the Wolverines with me!! It was the best!!!

Sunning on Our Dock Today....

Today as we were sitting down to lunch Mikey says "Look at that turtle in the water" So I look and I totally miss seeing the turtle because I see this very large iguana sunning himself on a chair on our dock. The kids were thrilled and of course wanted to capture him to have as a pet! I must say he was pretty amazing. It is a perk to living in Florida to have such a variety of wildlife right in your own backyard..

Our Visit to the Nursing Home Tuesday

On Tuesday we went to a local nursing home with other home schoolers from our parish. Father came and said mass, we sang Carols, and then the kids helped give out gifts and even helped some of the residents open theirs.

this was such a wonderful experience for my kids. It is actually the first time we have done this. They were a little shy at first and taking in their surroundings. Once they warmed up they jumped right in.

Maggie tried to take a couple of the residents for rides, Kolbe helped open some gifts, Christian shook hands and said "Hello" to many of the residents....it was wonderful. It was so nice to see them interacting with the residents and seeing how happy the residents were to have children among them.

What Happens When a 4 yo Trys To Ride a 2 wheeler

About a week and a half ago Christian decided to take on rising a two wheeler. Unfortunately the bike won! Christian feel off and hurt his eye pretty good. He came in the house with blood coming out of the corner of his eye which was frightening. He had cut himself up under the eyelid in the corner. Luckily he was just swollen for a few days.

I am sure next time he will wait for someone to teach him how to ride and pick a slightly smaller bike!

May Tracy and All The Souls...

Yesterday our dear friend Tracy passed away after a year long fight. A year ago in October she had a heart aneurysm and during the open heart surgery to save her she suffered a stroke. She was badly brain damaged. She was on a feeding tube and respirator. Over the past year she started to make improvements - she was taking some breaths on her own occasionally and beginning to respond by movement and trying to open her eyes to familiar voices and music. Well - her heart gave out yesterday morning and they were unable to revive her. Tracy was such a wonderful person. She loved God and was a loyal and faithful friend. We will miss her very much but know she is on her way to the Lord. At least she is whole again and not suffering anymore.

We will miss you Tracy - God Bless your family and friends in their time of grief.

Remember With Me...

Today is one year since my D & C with Ambrose. This year has gone by so fast and yet I have cried many times over the loss of our precious Ambrose and our two other babies . It has been hard, but it is comforting knowing my babies are in heaven.

I remember so clearly going to my in-laws for Thanksgiving a year ago and telling everyone we were having a baby; a week later going to the doctor and there seeing my perfect little one with no heart beat. Crying all day and knowing that I was going to have a D & C 4 days later. Going in and wishing it wasn't true but knowing that I saw with my own eyes that there was no heartbeat and knowing it before they even told me. Feeling so much pain and being so sick after the surgery - two hours to come to - being sick for hours afterwards. The phone call the next morning from my doctor telling me that I had lost a lot of blood because the baby was not 12 weeks as we had thought but 4 weeks further - 16 weeks. Crying and crying with my hubby and kids. Feeling all those postpartum things but with no baby to hold and love....

Please pray for us today and remember with us.

Kolbe's First Reconciliation

Kolbe made his First Reconciliation on Saturday December 2nd. It is such a special day for all the kids. Kolbe did a wonderful job and had his Act Of Contrition all memorized.

Each child made a lamb and put their lamb on the banner after they made their Confession to Father. The kids also sang a song after they were all done. The following day they were announced at Mass and then there was cake and punch for them in the Parish Hall to celebrate their sacrament with them.

Happy Belated Birthday Ben

Ok - I am the biggest slacker - I am way behind on Ben's Birthday post seeing as his birthday was November 20!
Ben turned nine this November and is just a delight. he is such a sweet and smart boy. he likes to play soccer and baseball. As you can see he got catchers gear for his birthday from Aunt Chris and Grandma and Grandpa. He loves it! He uses it as much as he can for now. Baseball season will put it into much more use.

We had a nice celebration at our house with Aunt Jenny, Uncle John, and Jake. Then we celebrated again at Thanksgiving with Grammy, Grandpa, Aunt Kris , and Uncle Brian. So much fun for such a wonderful and handsome boy.

Joy And Thankfulness

I just had to post and tell you how happy, excited and absolutely grateful I am today. My hubby finally got a job!! It has been a long 3 months let me tell you. He started working today for a company called Majestic Airport Transportation. He picks people up at the airport and takes them to their destination or else picks them up at home or the hotel to take them to the airport. They pay everyday and he makes 1/2 of each fare ( they are set fares) plus tips. So far he loves it!!

The drawbacks are that he is an independent contractor so there are no benefits. Also the hours are long - 12 to 16 hours per day. The great part is they pay everyday and provide the vehicles (either a van, mini-van or a town car) This is such a good job for him I am sure he will succeed.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed, offered encouragement and just listened when I needed to vent. I love you all and I am so thankful to our Good Lord for this job!!!

Fun With Maggie

Hi All - I am very behind on posting but I thought I would post some of the silly, crazy, and funny things Maggie has done recently.

The first story is from Thanksgiving at my in-laws. After eating turkey and all the trimmings, watching a great movie called "the Ultimate Gift" and playing outside we had some sandwiches for dinner before heading back to Cape Coral - a 3 hour drive. Maggie was eating her sandwich while her brothers sat and ate also. Some of them finished before her and asked Grammy for an apple. Maggie then decides that she would also like an apple. We tell her she may have one after she finishes her sandwich. After banging her hands on the counter and saying she wants apple and getting the same answer she decides on a different route. She takes what is left of her sandwich off of her plate and puts it on the loaf of bread in front of her. After doing this she proceeds to hand Grammy her empty plate and wait for her apple. Needless to say after watching this and hiding our laughter she still did not get the apple for she never finished her sandwich.

Today while I was our running errands Maggie was taking her nap. We have put her in a "big girl bed" - actually her crib converts to a day bed. Now that she is in a "big girl bed" we sometimes find her sleeping other places besides her bed at nap time. When Mike went in to check on her he found her asleep in the rocking chair. He was amazed that she could curl up and fit in such a small space and still be comfortable enough to sleep. As you can see she looks so sweet sleeping in her rocking chair with her blankets, pillow, and care bears.

The last one is the icing on the cake! Today after maggie woke up from her nap she kept telling Mike to "get it out" while pointing at her nose. We thought she had a big booger in there so we kept trying to clear out her nose. Then she tells Mike "to get it out" and shows him a popcorn seed. He asks me to look and see if she has a popcorn seed in her nose but I do not see one from the angle I am looking so I say "no" and think no more of it. About 10 minutes later she is rubbing her nose and saying "get it out" and getting ready to cry. I decide I better take a better look up her nose to make sure it is clear. I put her on my lap and tilt her head back and sure enough there is a popcorn see up her nose!!!! Luckily there is some space on the top so it is not totally lodged in. I tell her to blow her nose and she makes me get a kleenex first. While Mike is getting the tweezers I am able to push her nostril back enough to bring it forward and then I am able to use my little finger to get it out. Immediately afterwards she says "Better now". Amazing how that works isn't it? After all those boys she is the first of our kids to put something in their nose.

Oh my - here I am typing and she is at it again. Maggie has been chewing a piece of gum now for about an hour. This is amazing to me as it is since my boys never master the concept of chewing gum until they are about 4 or 5 and she is only two. The only problem is she likes to put it places and then go back a little later - like a minute or so - and chew it again. Well just a minute ago I asked her where her gum was. She runs over to our entertainment center - which is missing its door handles so it has two holes - and shows me her gum put neatly in the little hole where the handle should be. She then picks it up and starts chewing again.

I tell you she just cracks me up! She sure does keep us on our toes!!!

I never thought I would be so excited to see one team beat another, but today I am!! Thanks to the Fighting Illini for beating Ohio State! Because they came into Columbus and beat the Buckeyes it is now a show down between Michigan and Ohio State for the Rose Bowl. I am praying that Chad Henne and Mike Hart will be healthy enough to play next week in the 'Big House'. What a sweet victory it will be if Michigan can pull this off. Now - I am smart enough to see that Michigan will need it's home field advantage and Henne and Hart, but as we can see nothing is impossible. Go Blue!!

Biopsy Results

Yesterday I was told the results of my 2nd biopsy! What great news- they got all of the cells. I need to go back in 6 months for an all over skin check, but that is all! I am so happy. thanks for all of your prayers.

Halloween, Chicago, And more

Yesterday was so much fun. In the afternoon the boys helped clean out the pumpkin so I cold make pumpkin seeds and Dad could carve the pumpkin. Then My sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came over for piza and trcik-or-treating. The kids all dressed up so cute a you can see. Mikey was the basketball head, RJ was a ninja, Ben was Darth Vader, my nephew Jake was a warrior, Kolbe was a football player, Nate was Captain Jack Sparrow, Christian was a fire Fighter, and Maggie was Dorothy. I must say it was so much fun dressing her up. She said trick-or-treat , Happy Halloween, and thank you when she got candy. She was a hit around the neighborhood as well as all of the kids. I must say I thought we would have a lot more trick-or-treaters than we did. Now I have tons of candy left over in addition to their haul.

Today I leave for Detroit so I can go to Austin's tournament in Chicago. I am really looking forward to the time with Austin and my family. It is going to be buys but wonderful. Austin and I are also going to be seeing some very dear friends while we are there. I can't wait it has been years since we have seen them.

Please keep prayingf or Mike's job situation. He did not get the city job. They gave it to someone with previous police dispatch experience. He did apply for 911 dispatch where we live and call taker for Ft. Myers. Please pray he gets a job soon. Also my job has ended. The company I work for has ceased operations. I am so bummed. It was a great job for at home and I was starting to earn a decent amount. I know God has a plan I just wish it involved jobs for our family.

Not much else new but you know I will be posting when I get back from Detroit.

Weekend Away And more

As You can see by the pictures the wedding was just wonderful. Mike's youngest step-sister was married - the last girl in the family. Beth and Chris are off on their honeymoon after a wonderful celebration.

Mike and I got into New Jersey late Friday but we were able to sleep in and relax Saturday before the festivities began. The wedding was just awesome. We really enjoyed being with the family and catching up with everyone.

When we got back Saturday morning we headed out to pick up all the kids. They were so good when we were gone. Mike and I were very proud of them. After picking them up we headed to RJ's baseball games. The first game they won and he had a double. In the second game he walked once and then got out. The team played well and lost by one run.

This week is a short one for me. I leave Thursday to go to Detroit. Once in Detroit my sister will pick me up at the airport and off to Chicago we go. We will be there until Sunday watching Austin play in the Nike Bauer Invitational. It will be busy but loads of fun. It is the first time since we have been married that I have gone anywhere without an infant or the whole family. I am sooo excited! Other than that we are having a Halloween get together with my Sister, Brother-in-law and nephew. We are having pizza and trick-or-treating. I will post Halloween Pictures Thursday before I go.

2nd Biopsy Tomorrow

As excited as I am for the weekend to arrive I wish I did not have to endure a second biopsy first. I go in tomorrow afternoon for a deeper biopsy on my mole on my back. As you know the first biopsy showed that it is Dysplastic and so they are going to do a biopsy that goes deeper and compare the two. ouch! I am not looking forward to it as you can imagine. I will let you all know what they say in a couple of weeks.

Other than that we are all counting down to Friday when they all get to go to friend's houses and Mom and Dad get to go away for a couple of days:)

Hello Everyone - Well at the start of this week I am looking forward to Friday. It cannot get here soon enough:) Mike and I are getting a weekend away to attend his sister's wedding in New Jersey. We are really looking forward to alone time and time to just chill with the adults. It has been a long time since we have gotten to get away without any kids.

Thanks to the generosity of Mike' parents and all those who are helping out by taking in our kids for the weekend we are going to relax and have some fun:) Now I just have to survive the week!

More Girl Fun

Maggie has this crazy curly hair- which I love - but she refuses to put it up. It hangs in her face and makes me crazy. Well on Thursday night RJ had a baseball game and I decided to try to persuade Maggie into putting her hair up by putting mine up. I put pigtails in and came out of my room and Maggie was soo excited. She wanted hair pretties like Mom's. I put her hair up and as you can see she looks adorable. It was a small price to pay:)

God Fatihful in The Little Details

This weekend my hubby has been gone to Ann Arbor to watch our son play hockey for the weekend. My parents generously paid his way there. Needless to say that such weekends alone with 7 kids, sports, and one vehicle can be a little hectic.

Well yet again God showed me His love for me in the little details. R.J. was supposed to have a baseball tournament locally this weekend and Mikey's games were supposed to be Saturday. Also Kolbe was supposed to attend Mass at 4:00 Saturday with his CCD Class. All this was going to make for interesting arrangement making for me as well as the other kids who were going to be dragged along behind me where ever I went.

In God's great mercy and goodness everything was changed around for the better. RJ had no baseball this weekend - not even practice! His tournament is now this weekend coming up. Mikey's games were changed to today which left us completely free to hang around and get chores done Saturday and attend 4:00 Mass where Kolbe was able to then sit with his CCD class in preparation for First Holy Communion. Not only that but Friday was relatively free so I was able to get a lot of work done for my legal coding job and we still had time to go to my sister's house for dinner and hockey - University of Michigan was on and they get the Big Ten channel with their satellite dish so they had us over for dinner, hockey and fun time for the kids to hang out with their cousin.

All in all it was a great weekend where I continually felt God's gentle guidance. I must continue to ask for prayers for my sanity however. The prednisone (60 mg per day for a week) is making me very hyper and none to kind. I lost my temper badly a couple of times this weekend and had to apologize to my kiddos. They are so sweet and forgiving - I am much harder on myself. I am also struggling a little with my walk with God and all the stresses and the grind of daily life but I have definitely felt all of your prayers and have seen the results of such faithful friends praying for me and thinking of me. Well - I am back from getting my biopsy result for my rash and my mole.

The rash is Granuloma Annulare and so they are putting me on prednisone for a week and then a month off and then prednisone for a week. They are also giving me a steroid cream to use and they say that should stop the spreading and it should eventually go away.

The mole is not normal. It is not at melanoma stage and may never get here but it is Dysplastic Nevus - the stage before Melanoma. They are going to take a deeper biopsy in two weeks after this one heals a little more. The deeper biopsy will be compared to the other one to see if they need to take more or if they have gotten all the abnormal cells.

All in All not too bad. I am glad to have answers, but I am not glad to need a deeper biopsy in to weeks. Oh well -Such is life.

p.s. - our phone situation should be finally resolved by this evening. What a mess of lost paymetns a dreversed payents - Yikes!!!

Phone Problems

Hey all - If you are trying to reach us by phone our phone company screwed up a couple of our payments and shut our phones off with no warning. When Mike went to try to resolve the issue the computers were already shut down for the day so we have no phone service until tomorrow morning sometime. Reach me her or via e-mail

Sorry about this - we made the payments and they screwed up how they credited them and then they reversed two of our payments so it showed unpaid balances - so crazy.

Hi again - I am back after a looong day at the baseball diamond. Mikey's team had a three way where their team and two others play against each other. They won both their games which is HUGE for us. We have not won a game since the first game of the season. It was great to see the boys put together a nice team effort to win their games. Unfortunately RJ had a double header today at a different field and since we have only one vehicle we had to miss his games. they lost both of theirs by a big margin but they played the number one team in the state and did well for the most part.

I wanted to also thank all of you who called or wrote to me with such kind words and support. I must say that it has helped to lighten my load. We also were able to go to First Friday Mass as a family which is a bonus to having a hubby out of work. At First Friday Mass they did a consecration of families to The Sacred Heart of Jesus. It brought me to tears and helped a lot. God knows just what we need. I am still struggling with all of this but it is not as bad - I am not crying myself to sleep every night now and I am feeling more myself. I am struggling with my tongue though and we are fighting quite a bit due to all the stress. That has not helped my feelings of isolation but I know we are both just worn out physically and emotionally.

On a good note he has a job interview on the 16th with the City Police Department as a dispatcher. Please beg God that he gets this job. Though the pay is not great in the beginning the benefits, retirement, stability, etc are awesome.

I love you all and am so grateful to each of you for praying for me, my family, and for our situation. I will be on soon I am sure. Have a wonderful weekend everyone:)

Dropping In to Say 'Hi"

Hey Everyone - I have been so busy that I have not been to good about posting regularly.

Life here is pretty hectic at the moment. We have been very busy with homeschooling. I am teaching 5 kids this year so my days are full not to mention working for home on top of it all. At the end of a day I am spent to say the least. Mike is still looking for work which is stressful. The economy here is horrible and has been ranked as the worst place in the US to find a job. It is causing lots of stress around here but we are holding up. I am waiting for my appointment on the 12th to find out what my biopsies showed if anything.

The kids are busy too. Between school work, CCD for Kolbe and baseball we are always on the go. It is good though. The kids are doing great in school. Kolbe loves CCD and is excited to make his First Reconciliation and First Communion this year. Mikey and RJ are both thriving in baseball and love their new teams. Though they are no winning much they are learning and that is key. Austin is super busy with school work and hockey. He is finding that social time is very limited because he is so busy. Things are going well and many scouts from colleges, National Team Development Program, and the OHL are avidly watching him this year.

I am overwhelmed lately and feeling very alone and stressed. It is hard sometimes to understand why things happen and why they seem to be continual for us. I know God allows suffering because He loves us and that He loves me - it is just hard to swallow it at times. I am tired of the stress, lack of money, lack of stability, the fear of how we are going to make it etc. I am sad and have been thinking about the fact that we may be done having babies. I know we are blessed with the wonderful kids we have yet we want more. Now is obviously not the best time but I have found myself missing the babies I have lost over the past year and a half. I find that my heart and arms feel so empty at times. Well it is just where I am right now - sad, lonely, stressed, a little frightened and tired of it all. I love God and I know He is caring for us it is just hard - I am human after all.

I hope life is treating everyone well and will be back soon.....

Maggie's 2nd Birthday

On Wednesday the 26th Maggie turned 2!!!! I can hardley believe that my baby is two!!!! She is such a sweet girl. She is very smart, bossy, sweet, into everything, and the ruler of all our worlds.

Her birthday celebration was a lot of fun. She was born on my parent's anniversary - the only granddaughter - and named after my Mom. They were able to be down here for her birthday and their anniversary. We also had my sister, my brother - in - law and my nephew over. It was lot of fun. She is at an age where she is fun to watch play with her gifts. Her two favorite were her cell phone which came in a purse and her Dora fabric toy boxes. She kept talking on her phone - her mother's child - and putting the toy box on her head. It was adorable. She loves Dora and would name all the names of the characters on the Dora things for her bedroom. She also loved her Care Bear (theyare second to Dora) cake and was licking frosting off the bottom of the Care Bear. It was was very funny to watch her dip the Care Bears bottom on the frosting and lick it off.

We are grateful for our daughter and we are enjoying watching her grow up though at times it is bitter sweet. This is the first time that there is no new baby in my arms or on the way when I have a child turning two. It was strange yet we are really able to enjoy her and the other kids. We are looking forward to many more birthday celebrations for her and all of our boys.

Happy Belated 4th Birthday Christian!!!

On Thursday it was Christian's 4th birthday. We had a very nice day. For dinner we had Chicken Parmesean and for dessert a yummy ice cream cake. We got Christian his very own football helmet. We also got him a scooter complete with helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads. He loves his scooter and rides it all over the place.

Christian is a very sweet boy who loves his mama! I can hardly believe that he is 4 already. Some of his accomplishments this past year include potty training, learning to swim, diving off the diving board, and leaving behind the toddler stage for the big boy stage. We are very proud of him ad we love him a lot!!! Happy Birthday buddy:)

This was the first game of a double header against a very good team. They beat us soundly but the kids never gave up and tried their best. RJ looked good and is loving AAU baseball.

My First Week Of Work

Yes - I said work! I started working from home this week as an Independant Contractor to a company in Chicago. I code legal documents for them. This week was a little hectic I must admit, but got better as the week went on.

First off it was hard to find time with schooling the kids, keeping the house clean, baseball, etc. Then the first batch of documents I coded was almost entirely in German!!! That was a huge challenge and it took me almost 5 hours to finish a batch of 20 documents. Not a huge money maker. The next batches just got easier and now I just have to hone my typing skills - and my German:) (jk) - and I should be able to complete more batches per hour and make some extra money.

Today we started school. Though we did not do a full day we started to ease into our school work and our school routine. Over all it went well, but there is some adjusting that needs to be done. They need to stay focused, entertain themselves better, and get used to less TV and electronics time. I am proud of the boys especially Nate who had his first day of Kindergarten. It is hard to believe I am schooling 5 kids this year! We will need to stay on track and work together but we are looking forward to a great year!!

Mikey's First AAU Double Header

Yesterday was Mikey's first ever game with AAU. The 13 and Under Bombers played a double header against the Nort Port Cats. Each team won a game.

We met at teh Pine Island Super Target and caravaned to the North Port fields. Getting there at 9:30 am. Because their was no time limit we ended up not being done until 5:30 that evening. It was an exhausting and hot day but so much fun.

I am very proud of Mikey. It was a challenge playing on such a big field- the same size as a major league field. He was the extra hitter the first game and played left field. In the second game he played center feild until the last inning when he was moved to left field. He had a lot of hits and was walked twice by being hit with the ball. He loved it and likes his team mates alot. All the boys did great despite the heat. We lost the first game 10-8 and won the second game 16-15 despite being down 10-0 in the first inning!! Not one kid on their team struck out all day! That is quite an achievement! Though they have things to work on I think they did very well their first time all playing together and we are looking forward to a great season.

Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house

When we went to Michigan we stayed at my Mom and Dad's house. They have such a beautiful home and setting. As you can see they have a large yard that goes to a lake. The kids had soo much fun. They fished, canoed, swam, hunted for frogs - and even caught a few big bull frogs - played baseball, and more. It is such a great place to run free and play. We are so grateful that they put up with us for two weeks of a fun filled vacation. I have more pictures of the fun they had but I could only put this many on the post. I will have to add more to a second post. Stay tuned

Having A blast!!

Hi everyone - I thought I would update you all on what we have been up to.

Wednesday we went to noon Mass at our former parish Christ The King. It was so wonderful. Fr. Ed did a wonderful job as usual - I sure miss his homilies. After Mass we spent about an hour just saying Hello to many any friends. It was great but he boys were getting hungry and so we had to scoot.

Later that day my brother came over to my parents and we all had dinner together. Nothing like pizza and family!!! It was so good to just hang out togther. We used to do that all often when we all lived in Michigan.

Yesterday we hung out with our dear friends the Faraj's. It was soo good to see them. It was like we never left. They have 6 girls so Maggie ahd her share of Girl time!!! We went to another friend's house to swim. Their pool is amazing. It has a slide and a diving board. Needless to say my kids were in heaven. I even went down the slide!!

After our fun day we had dinner at my parents with my sister and then I went to Women's Group. What can I say about that ? It is such a wonderful group of dear women who love and serve Jesus, who love each other, and strive to improve in everything they do for love of God, their family and each other. I missed them so much.We shared, laughed, ate etc . What a hard thing to leave behind. I am so glad I was able to be here for it though. They are amazing !

I will have to add pictures later - my Dad's computer does not take my digital card so I will have to wait. I will be updating again soon. Today we are visitng more friends and Austin and my parents get back from hockey camp in Traverse City.

We arrived safe and sound late last night. Thanks for all your prayers - everything went very smoothly. The boys fished and played baseball this moning and then we went to Mass at Christ The King. It was amazing! I missed it so much and it was so good to see so many people. This is going to be a wonderful vacation.

Well - we leave in about 45 minutes for the airport for our trip to Michigan. Our flight leaves at 6:30 tonight and we get back the 28th. Happy 13th Annivesray to my husband Mike. It is so hard to believe it has been 13 years! The time has gone by so fast. God has blessed us so abundantly in these 13 years together. We have our faith, each other, and our 8 wonderful children.

Mike - all those years ago when we were 12 you said you were going to marry me! Well - you did! Thanks for waiting for me to come to my senses. I am so glad I did! I love you!!!!!! You are an amazing husband and father. I hope we are able to spend many many more years together!!!

Maggie Swimming!!!

Today Maggie was in the pol with Mike and the boys. Mike gave her the noodle and she started to kick her feet and she was off! When he told me I could hardly belive it. As you can see for yourself Ms. Independent has started to teach herself swimming basics. I am sure it will be a while before she is swimming completely on her own but this sure is a great first step.

Why does it seem that everything falls apart all at once?

Mike just got his car fixed - again!. the joys of an old car. My dishwasher has been on the fritz for a while. It does not get the dishes all the way clean and so I do most of them by hand - Oh yea! Our van has been without air conditioning for 6 months now and it is getting to the point where I cannot go anywhere because my car is over 100 degrees with only a little breeze coming in. Now it is my washing machine. It has been a week now and am I ever behind on laundry. The repair guy came today and tells me he will let me know in a couple of days what they are going to do. Apparently the barrell, shocks, etc are all worn and not in working order- I have a front loader - and that is why the drum is hanging down. He says it is a three hour job to do the repairs so he is going to try and get them just to replace the machine. I must say I would rather have them replace the machine but I hope they hurry up. We leave for Michigan in 6 days and I NEED to do my laundry!!! Pray for my sanity and that nothing else breaks down.
